Education Outreach

The goal of the Education Outreach Program is to introduce students to the art of music in an interactive way. A lively and captivating presentation can spark an interest, encouraging children to listen more attentively to music and possibly to pursue musical studies. As you know, research shows that youngsters who participate in some form of music develop a greater facility to learn, in the subjects of mathematics and science particularly.

Ventura Music Festival’s Music in the Schools programs have delighted Ventura’s school children for fifteen years. These multimedia, interactive, programs open children’s minds to new experiences through one-on-one music exploration. Through successful first attempts with rhythm, harmony and melody, children are encouraged to explore their creativity. Children find common ground with composers of the past through stories of their lives and struggles and learn the values of hard work and perseverance.

Harmonies of Success: Nurturing Minds through Music Education

Unlocking the potential of every child's future, music education goes beyond notes and rhythms. With attendance and graduation rates soaring in schools offering music training, students immersed in musical learning exhibit higher test scores, fewer discipline issues, and greater intellectual benefits. Moreover, music education contributes to improved mathematics achievements, reading skills, and the retention of information, transcending academic boundaries. These statistics underscore the profound impact of music on brain development, discipline, stress relief, cognitive abilities, and even social connectivity. Embracing music in education not only shapes well-rounded individuals but also cultivates essential life skills, making a compelling case for schools to prioritize and parents to encourage musical lessons.
