What happens when conservatory-trained virtuosos decide the rules no longer apply? On October 16th at Ventura Music Hall, TAKE3 answers that question with violin, cello, and piano, and absolutely no apologies. Born out of the practice rooms of the country's top conservatories, this genre-smashing trio lives at the intersection where classical rigor and rock-star energy collide. Audiences regularly describe the experience as a mini Trans-Siberian Orchestra, and the Los Angeles Times noted their playing has "a bold, aggressive tone and a body language that speaks loud and clear to audiences raised on rock videos." From Bach to Beethoven to the Beatles to Beyoncé, this is a concert that will defy every expectation of what chamber music can be.
ABOUT TAKE3
TAKE3 was founded by violinist and vocalist Lindsay Deutsch, a Colburn Conservatory-trained soloist who toured the world with Yanni before deciding classical music's rulebook needed rewriting. Joined by cellist and pianist, all with deep roots in the nation's finest conservatories, the trio seamlessly merges pop, rock, Americana, country, and classical favorites into a single electrifying show. Deutsch's violin can be heard throughout Netflix's The Witcher and Hulu's The Thing About Pam, and the group performs over 50 dates across the U.S. each season, playing performing arts centers, symphony halls, and festivals. Known as much for their warmth and humor as for their virtuosity, TAKE3 leaves audiences on their feet every night.
